Lucy has been getting into the festive spirit by creating a Christmas cocktail. Follow her recipe below to create your own Christmas Cosmopolitan.

A festive twist on a classic cocktail favourite. The magic ingredients for a ‘Cosmo’ are cranberry juice (or pomegranate if you’d prefer), Cointreau, vodka and lime juice. Don’t feel you have to play it safe with plain vodka, especially when there are so many yummy varieties on offer – I opted for vanilla vodka, which I think beautifully compliments the sweetness of the cranberry juice. A clementine or berry flavoured vodka would also work well and further enhance the festive vibe. If you’re more of a gin or tequila fan, then why not swap the vodka for a spirit of your choosing?

Shake your ‘Crimbo Cosmo’ mixture with ice. Best served chilled in a stemmed coupe or martini glass.

For the festive garnish I used glacé cherries which I pierced with some fresh sprigs of rosemary – and voila! Christmas in a glass!

Recipe:

100ml Vodka

250ml Cranberry or pomegranate juice

60ml Cointreau

1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice

Glace cherries and rosemary sprigs for garnish
