The Whitworth is home to many works by the artist Walter Crane (1845-1915). His studies and sketches allow us to catch a glimpse of his artistic process. Other works in the Walter Crane Archive, which is held at the Whitworth and John Rylands Research Institute and Library, were produced for a commercial purpose, such as his costume designs and his illustrations. The Whitworth is home to Crane’s artistic productions. The artist’s personal papers are in the care of John Rylands Research Institute and Library.

This costume design was hand traced by Hannah from the Visitor Team and turned into a colouring sheet for your enjoyment.
