Take a walk through Whitworth Park with Jake on a rare Snow Day...
If someone asked you to conjure up images of Christmas in your mind, then maybe you’d picture an evergreen tree strewn with decorations, a bountiful table of festive food with turkey and all the trimmings, or the vibrant reds and greens of holly boughs. Whatever it was you imagined I’d feel pretty confident in waging that snow formed part of the picture! But why is this? The white stuff is completely synonymous with the festive period, but it’s not like that’s something backed up by nature, after all we’ve only seen four snowy Christmases since the sixties. In fact, some people even argue that you’re more likely to see it snowing at Easter now, rather than on the 25th!
With that in mind, we went and bottled up a bit of that snowy magic earlier this year to release out into the Christmas period. Please enjoy these little vignettes of life in Whitworth Park, when everything is covered by a blanket of white.

If you happen to be reading this on a characteristically dismal and grey December day, try not to yearn for those classic Christmas card landscapes too much. All is not lost! After all, even when there’s no snow in Whitworth Park, there’s always a snowman!
